Dancing Mindfulness
What is dancing mindfulness?
It is a way to build a deeper connection with our bodies and allow them the chance to express themselves. With a carefully curated music playlist and loose movement suggestions, I will be guiding the process throughout, offering ways to listen to your body and allow it to move how it needs.
I recognize that this can be a vulnerable space for people. But this is intended to be a safe space--you only have to move as much as feels comfortable for you. We will start out slow and gradually build to bigger movements, for those who are interested. You are not required to move in any particular way, and could even spend the whole time sitting and allowing the music to move through you.
All ages and movements abilities welcome! You do not need to be able to move about a space to participate.
Please dress comfortably for movement, and bring a water bottle if you would like. The room is carpeted, so you are welcome to wear shoes, socks, or go barefoot, to your comfort.
What is Galentine’s Day?
À la the incomparable Leslie Knope (of Parks and Recreation), Galentine’s Day is for ladies to celebrate ladies. A chance for women to come together and support each other.
My intention for this workshop is that it would be empowering, comforting, energizing, and connecting. The playlist will only feature songs by women, with an emphasis on those that build us up.
I will also have homemade brownies and n/a sparkling beverages to enjoy after the workshop!
